What is a Compounding Pharmacy?

OUR PHILOSOPHY

Part of OWL’s success is that it has proprietary formulas that are compounded for effectiveness. OWL works with only accredited compounding pharmacies to deliver high quality medication.

  • OWL offers complete, immediate and convenient care to our patients who will see the physician online and receive their medication without leaving the comfort of their residence. 
  • OWL only contracts with qualified healthcare providers who have had experience in telemedicine and the wellness field. 
  • Each physician is carefully screened by our Medical Director and follows our protocol to properly treat patients uniformly.
  • OWL offers superior medications, compounded by highly trained and skilled clinical pharmacists.
OUR MISSION

The medication will be shipped directly to the patient after processing within 72 hours, in a cold storage container, if necessary, as will be the case with the weight loss injectables and certain erectile dysfunction medications. 

Offering home delivery through our product to clients within 48-72 hours after processing by the pharmacy or sooner. Since the patient will be instantly billed for the consult and product or products, our compounding pharmacy can be paid according to their billing cycle.

  • The consumer will not have to shop around at local pharmacies which most likely will not be capable of filling our highly customized medications.
  • Most of our formulations are unique and cannot be easily duplicated by local compounding pharmacies.
  • Our pricing will be much more affordable to our patients. Brand name Ozempic, Wegovy, and Mounjaro are in the $1000 plus range. The compounded versions OWL offers are a fraction of the cost of the brand. 
OUR VISION
During the recent Covid-19 pandemic, telemedicine became an indispensable resource to maintain patient-physician relationships, avoiding face to face contact. While the pandemic has subsided, people have become familiar with the benefits of seeing a health care professional on their devices.
  • OWL will meet all state requirements by establishing a valid patient-physician relationship through video and phone consults.
  • OWL will continue to expand its product line
  • OWL will continue to keep patients up to date through SMS and Email automations post-visit.
  • Renewals for prescriptions will be provided with either being added to the prescription, an additional Telemedicine appointment with your Medical Professional, or as the Doctor sees fit.
  • Not all renewals will require another telemedicine appointment. We can issue renewals as the doctor sees fit. As mid-level practitioners will not be prescribing anyway, as the doctor will need to sign off on the notes in the EHR created by the mid-level practitioners and prescribe medications which will not be done by the PA or NP, refills can be added to the prescription.
  • As an example with weight loss injectables, after the 3-month period, a follow-up call is necessary. Also, if the patient is experiencing side effects or is not having success with the initial dose, follow-ups are necessary. Hormone therapy should require follow-up calls and labs ordered as needed. Speaking of labs, we need to offer the patient the option of visiting their local lab-another question for the intake, besides pharmacy, or for weight loss and hormones, offer the at-home urine collection kit from Rupa, which might add additional cost, but extremely comprehensive. Rupa may provide the patient paperwork to self-submit to their insurance companies. Of course, there’s no way of knowing if the patient’s insurance will cover the kit.
  • ED, Skincare, and other topics can have refills attached with a follow-up or two.
  • The doctor will generally make the determination on refills.

    After its completion, I transferred across the East River to The Brooklyn Hospital and Medial Center where my training continued in Family Medicine where I graduated as chief resident and won the 2nd prize in the Vincent Tricomi Resident Research Awards. My training continued this time in Emergency Medicine in Memphis at The University of Tennessee at the Med (not only famous as the hospital where Elvis was brought in upon his death, but also) one of the busiest trauma centers in the world with over 100,000 visits/year.
    In 2002 I moved to South Florida as a medical attending in Emergency Medicine and became the Associate Medical Director of the ER at Plantation General Hospital. I went on and opened my 1st Urgent Medical Center in 2005 and grew it to over 15,000 patients strong.
    But it was not until 2007 that I found my true calling in life. While flying to Vegas for a conference, I picked up a magazine and read about hormones and Anti-Aging medicine. My mind was blown, my eyes were opened, my brain was wired and for the 1st time I understood what I needed to to do, what my goal was and most importantly, I knew I had to get this knowledge to my patients.
    I immediately became fully immersed in learning everything I could about age medicine and soon with my newfound knowledge I opened my 1st medical spa.
    Since then, I have perfected many hormone protocols, and treated over thousands of hormone patients with ZERO complications.
    I am triple board certified in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine and Geriatric Medicine. I am the proud author of 32 white papers , 4 medical articles, one diet book and co-author of a neurosurgical text book. I was a clinical instructor at Ross University, a voluntary Professor of Medicine at UM (department of Family Medicine) and Associate Professor of Medicine at FIU (department of emergency medicine).
    Currently in publishing is my latest textbook entitled “Hormones: The truth about them.”
    In 2017 I moved to Las Vegas to further advance my medial career and now I am the Principal Investigator for a major medical clinical trials center where I helped study and bring to market Covid Vaccines and Treatments and most recently weight loss medications which are certainly gong to change the way we treat obesity.

    Ira, a pharmacist in the United States for 20 years, a graduate of the University of Florida School of Pharmacy has managed high volume pharmacies throughout his career and will act as COO of Online Wellness Leaders. He will run the day-to-day business operations of the company and act as a liaison to physicians. Mr. Friedberg managed one of the two highest volume Walmart pharmacies in the United States as well as managed extremely high-volume independent pharmacies in Delray Beach, Florida. He opened his own independent pharmacy, Ira’s Discount Pharmacy in 2004 in Delray Beach, Florida, successfully escalating the business entity through extensive marketing, providing exceptional service.
    Compounding for many specialties in the medical field, Mr. Friedberg’s knowledge and experience gained the trust of the doctors in the South Palm Beach County area. Most chain pharmacies, such as Walgreens, CVS, Rite Aid, Target, Walmart, and other pharmacies did not provide compounding services for their customers. Compounding provided an excellent service to the community as patients could not obtain these necessary and beneficial compounds elsewhere.
    Ira also possesses a degree in business from the State University of New York, specializing in marketing. His experience in marketing was beneficial to build the pharmacy and compounding business.
